The Pennsylvania legislature is currently considering a bill, HB 1460, that would threaten the ability of independent physician practices to enter into transactions that allow them to develop or maintain physician-owned ambulatory surgical facilities. As written, the bill would pose serious unintended consequences for independent physician practices and the patients who rely on them.
